Our program, APEX: Advancing the Patient Experience by Achieving Partnership Excellence, educates providers on ways to promote patient satisfaction and enhance their own medical careers.

Patient Safety and Risk Management
We implement programs designed to prevent medical errors and improve patient safety. Our Mistake-Free Medicine program was founded on two key components:
1. To identify a standard of care and measure potential errors.
2. To reduce errors through process and behavioral changes.
We have demonstrated a commitment to quality patient care by earning the federally accredited Patient Safety Organization (PSO) designation. Emergency Consultants is the first organization of its kind to earn the designation as a listed PSO.
The goal of the program is to increase patient safety, promote high-quality patient care, and reduce medical errors. The ECI PSO case reviews are performed by physicians from all affiliated practice groups, representing a wide variety of practice patterns and locations.
Using the PSO’s proprietary database, the members can provide accurate, thoughtful, and scientific case studies that serve to provide feedback, impact practice environments, and educate physicians and midlevel providers. ECI LearnCenter is a hub for more than 100 CME courses. It also includes instructional videos to support chart completion and accurate documentation as well as EMTALA, HIPAA, and APEX patient satisfaction training.
Medical Director Toolbox includes CMS documentation guidelines, Ongoing Professional Practice Evaluation (OPPE), Focused Professional Practice Evaluation (FPPE), quality improvement forms, a video-based Leadership Resource Guide, and Medical Directors’ Forum.
The Documentation and Education Website delivers feedback to providers on documentation and coding on a recurring basis. These websites provide detailed information regarding documentation deficiencies and how to avoid them. The Physician Quality Reporting System (PQRS) is a payment for data reporting. Through our partner, SymMetric Revenue Solutions, we continue to submit hundreds of thousands of data points on PQRS indicators to CMS.

We offer the ECI PSO QualChart System: a sophisticated, user-friendly, template-based charting system that offers legible and complete patient care records. Additionally, it supplements your hospital’s unique charting system with valuable modules designed to enhance patient safety and promote quality care.

Many of our locations offer personal scribe services. This service allows providers to focus more on patient care and less on administrative functions and documentation.
