Southeastern Ohio Regional Medical Center is a 177-bed community hospital located in a rural area of southeastern Ohio. This full-service facility has supportive, responsive medical staff that represents most major specialties. Full diagnostic services are available 24 hours a day. The hospital, which has a 12 percent admission rate, sees a broad pathology mix that includes trauma and pediatrics (approximately 25 percent). As Guernsey County’s only general acute health care center, Southeastern Ohio Regional Medical Center serves 5,800 inpatients and 58,000 outpatients annually. The 29,000-volume emergency department offers 16 rooms, plus eight beds in a designated fast-track area.
Cambridge is nestled in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains in beautiful southeastern Ohio. Located at the intersection of Interstate Highways 70 and 77, Cambridge is often called the Crossroads of America. It’s located about 122 miles south of Cleveland, Ohio; 100 miles southwest of Pittsburgh, Penn.; 50 miles west of Wheeling, W. Va.; and 80 miles east of Columbus, Ohio. Guernsey County is the heart of business, education, and tourism in Southeastern, Ohio.
Cambridge, the county seat of Guernsey County, is a family-centered community that has hometown appeal. Thanks to a low cost of living but high quality of life, the relaxed small town is home to many adult and youth civic organizations, fairs, festivals, theater groups, and other attractions and events. Retail stores and two malls are located about 30 minutes away, but Cambridge’s historic downtown shopping district draws many tourists and locals.
