Partnership Benefits

Get more out of your career.

The ECI Healthcare Partners network is grounded in a foundation of great people who are deeply invested in the communities they serve. It is our top priority to find and partner with the very best healthcare professionals in the industry. In fact, every decision we make and benefit we offer is based on this premise.

  • Partnership Status

Experience the power of our partnerships. We are partners providing you with the tools to succeed and practice management support to ensure you can focus on what matters most: quality patient care.

Many of our opportunities carry the added career benefit of working with a dedicated local physician group. As a physician, you will be a partner in a local limited liability partnership (LLP), which aligns your finances with the partnerships. As a result, you pay your own taxes and receive a K-1 (instead of a 1099 or W-2 form), leading to higher pay and greater benefit flexibility. Physician Assistants and Nurse Practitioners work as employees of these LLPs. In addition, the partnership provides malpractice insurance and a 401(k)-defined contribution plan.

  • Personal Support

What sets us apart? Hands down—the people who support our partnerships. We care about you and your family so you can focus on your patients. From excellent clinical leadership to lifestyle focused scheduling services, we provide the career tools and job resources you need.

    • Leadership

Delivering genuine partnerships among healthcare systems, local physician groups, and ECI Healthcare Partners' management team requires a backbone of strong leadership, and that's exactly what we deliver.

ECI Healthcare Partners and its affiliated partnerships are known throughout the industry as physician friendly organizations with consistently high marks in honesty and fairness from physician surveys.

    • Staffing Support Team

Local physician groups are supported by their own staffing team, ensuring each clinical provider receives personal and professional attention. We take care to address your needs when developing monthly physician partnership schedules. It's our local involvement that makes the difference and helps support healthy work-life balance. So you never miss out on all that life has to offer.

  • Non-Competes

A great medical career should come with more job rewards. We believe in helping you grow your career, not stifling it. Unlike many physician and hospital employed groups, we never want to lock you into anything against your will. That's why we're proud to offer you the freedom from non-compete clauses.

  • Protection

    We’ve got your back.

We're proud to deliver the best medical malpractice coverage in the healthcare industry through the physician-owned National Guardian Risk Retention Group. The result? Malpractice claim rates among the lowest in the country and just a fraction of the insurance standard. Because, we’re physicians too, we’ll relentlessly defend you.

    • Occurrence-based Malpractice

Never worry about tail coverage again. As a physician owned organization, we make protecting our clinical providers a top priority. As such, we offer industry leading occurrence-based malpractice insurance. That means you never have to worry about covering your tail costs. Simply put: what you do today will never haunt you tomorrow.

    • Clinical Excellence

Work with only the best. The internal credentialing team works to assure every physician, nurse practitioner, and physician assistant is highly qualified with a proven history of exemplary patient care. Once they join an affiliated partnership, our innovative data capture technologies and educational programs give our partners the resources to stay at the top of their game. With these tools in place, National Guardian Risk Retention Group boasts a claims rate less than one-third the national average.

  • Leadership Opportunities

Your career growth is a top priority. Physician partners are encouraged to grow professionally. From committee participation at the hospital and group level, to national quality, documentation, and safety committees, there are many ways to get involved. We're committed to your success through educational programs such as the Annual Partners’ Meeting and the James M. Johnson Physician Leadership Course. These, along with the many Medical Director and Assistant Directorship opportunities available across the country, help to support your career growth every step of the way.

  • Recognition

We're proud to deliver a culture that recognizes and fosters provider achievement, loyalty, and tenure. Much deserved direct contact from the Client Services Team is a frequent occurrence, to let you know we care and to congratulate you on your many successes, contributions, and personal celebrations.

Each year we honor exceptional partners with the Meritorious Award of Distinction, and career achievements, certifications, and newsworthy stories are shared across the country.

  • Communication Tools

People drive our technology. We take great pride in the tools used to enhance your clinical practice. Here are just a few of the tools offered through PartnerPortal, our user-friendly web-based program:

    • Vital Signs

Vital Signs reports promote practice efficiency by providing clear data on patient volume statistics, provider productivity, ancillary service utilization, payor mix, and quality indicators. Medical Directors and partners use this data to review operational metrics for their emergency departments and to improve client satisfaction and patient care.

    • Syndromic Surveillance

We're committed to keeping you well informed on pressing healthcare issues. Our web-based Syndromic Surveillance tool utilizes health-related data to track clinical illnesses and syndromes that might have a significant impact on public health.

For example, the Syndromic Surveillance tool tracked the incidence of influenza-like illnesses in key states during the H1N1 influenza epidemic, successfully keeping affiliated providers abreast of rapidly changing conditions in their areas.

    • Medical Director Toolbox

The Medical Director Toolbox provides invaluable information and utilities. It includes CMS documentation guidelines, Ongoing Professional Practice Evaluations (OPPE) , Focused Professional Practice Evaluations (FPPE), quality improvement forms, a video-based Leadership Resource Guide, and Medical Directors’ Forum.

    • ECI PSO RAPID

The Rapid Analysis of Performance for Improvement of Documentation (RAPID) program provides weekly emails and consulting feedback to affiliated physician partners regarding CMS Core Measures performance. This non-blinded, peer-related feedback allows physicians to modify practice patterns based on actual, near contemporaneous medical record data. This is a clear example of our commitment to professional quality and improvement.

    • PQRS Physician Quality Reporting System

Currently, the Physician Quality Reporting System (PQRS) incentive bonus is “payment for reporting.” It is anticipated that PQRS will evolve to “payment for performance.” In 2011 SymMetric Revenue Solutions submitted data on over 80,000 PQRS indicators to CMS for over 1,000 affiliated providers.

  • Education and Quality Management

Clinical excellence begins with great education. Excellent patient care is our top priority. We're proud to provide free educational programs through our ACCME Accredited Education department, innovative communication technologies, and best-in-the-industry clinical leadership.

    • ACCME Accredited Provider Education

Emergency Consultants is fully accredited with commendation by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) as a provider of AMA PRA Category 1 Credit.

ACCME accreditation assures the medical community and the public that our Continuing Medical Education (CME) activities are high-quality, well-researched, best-practice-based courses.

    • Emergency Consultants LearnCenter

Our PartnerPortal provides you access to the LearnCenter. This serves as a hub for more than 100 hours of AMA PRA Category I Credit. It also includes our patient satisfaction program, APEX: Advancing the Patient Experience. Instructional videos to support chart completion and accurate documentation are also featured.

    • PSO Quality Executive Committee (QEC)

The QECs are composed of physicians from all of our affiliated practice groups. The committees goals are to increase patient safety, educate to improve patient care, and reduce medical errors.

The QECs meet monthly to conduct confidential reviews of cases that serve as opportunities to educate physicians and midlevel providers.

    • ABEM Assessment of Practice Performance (APP)

Being certified by the American Board of Emergency Medicine (ABEM), we provide our Quality Focus database to allow affiliated physicians the opportunity to complete their Assessment of Practice Performance. This is the fourth component of ABEM’s Maintenance of Certification (MOC) process and a requirement to remaining board certified.

The APP required practice improvement plans include participation in practice care patient improvement activities and communication/professionalism assessments. Our database allows these to be accomplished with ease.
